PPF Interest rates to fall again- check how it has changed in last 50 years

In this month end, the government of India will again fix the interest rates for the small savings schemes including the PPF for the July to September quarter. And again, there will be a cut most probably in the small saving rates which can lead to some financial issues. The government had already cut interest rates for the April- June quarter by up to 140 basis points on small savings scheme.

Since April 2016, the government has been revising the interest rates on PPF account quarterly. Earlier, it was revised per year only. So let us see the interest rates offered by PPF over many years.
