NSDL has recently made the announcement that they have terminated their agreement with Alankit LTD as a tax information network facilitator and PAN centre. The NSDL e-governance said- “Alankit Ltd. is no longer a facilitation centre service provider for NSDL e-Gov and cannot provide services on its behalf for accepting and processing PAN applications, e-TDS/e-TCS Statements etc,”
It is also said that the termination is on the account of non-remittance of PAN application fee and TDS filing fees which is collected from the filters to NSDL e-gov.
If anyone wants to apply for a PAN card, they must visit the NSDL e-Gov’s 17,209 centres in the country or they also can use the online portal available.
A Good news is that the income tax department has also started accepting the PAN card applicants on e-filling portal. If they want to get a PAN card, they can use their Aadhar card number and get it for free within 10 minutes. This service is available for everyone who has a valid Aadhar card.
