These days, the government is strict for everyone. The clear instructions have been made to link your PAN card with your Aadhar card or if you don’t do that, you have to face the consequences clearly. But if your Aadhar card and your PAN card data doesn’t match with each other due to any reason, the problem will become even bigger for you. According to the government, if your PAN is not linked with Aadhar card, then the PAN card will be declared inoperative by the ITD, Income tax department.
You have to first submit the request to link your PAN and Aadhar card and then the income tax department will fetch all the data from UIDAI in order to validate the demographic details of your Aadhar card. And if the data doesn’t match, the request will get rejected. However, you can then go for the biometric aadhar authentication.
For this, download the Aadhar seeding request and visit the PAN centre to complete the biometric aadhar authentication process which will be done offline. Everything will be mentioned in their website though.
A form will be given and you can fill and submit that for both your PAN and Aadhar card. Also, you can either change the details of any one instead of both. By doing that, you can save yourself from a big problem.
Parliament has been informed by the finance ministry that in India, total 48 crore PAN holders are there. However among them, 17 crores are still yet to link their Aadhar card with PAN card. And if they don’t do that before 21st March, their PAN card will be treated as inoperative. Hence, it is mandatory to do that before the deadline provided by the govt.
